LeCesse Development Corp. breaks ground on phase two of GrandeVille at Malta

LeCesse Development Corp. breaks ground on phase two of GrandeVille at Malta

MALTA, N.Y. (Sept. XX, 2022) – Since it was developed in 2017, GrandeVille at Malta has served as an extremely popular option for residents looking for best-in-class amenities and a convenient home base in New York’s Tech Valley. Now, the developer is giving the community more of a good thing.

LeCesse Development Corp, a national multifamily developer, has broken ground on the second phase of the project, a 189-unit community slated to open in Fall 2023.

The second phase of the project consists of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. There will be a mix of six carriage house and townhouse buildings and five three-story elevator-serviced apartment buildings with climate- and access-controlled corridors. Select units will have direct entry garages.

Units will have spacious, open floor plans with high-quality finishes, including designer kitchens with quartz countertops, custom wood cabinetry, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, nine-foot ceilings, wood-style plank flooring, in-unit washer/dryer and large walk-in closets. Additionally, each unit comes equipped with a cutting-edge SMART home package that contains smart locks, voice-controlled lights, and Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats.

The second phase will also include a full luxury amenity package, including an existing clubhouse shared with phase one of the development. The clubhouse is outfitted with stylish gathering areas and social spaces, an indoor pool, a fully equipped fitness center, a game room, business lounge and spa. Exterior amenities include an outdoor fire pit, grilling stations, a dog park and electric car charging stations.

The first phase of the project features 292 units, and it has been successful over the past five years. GrandeVille at Malta is located about 20 minutes from Albany and 10 minutes from Saratoga Springs. It is less than 10 minutes from GlobalFoundries $15 billion campus, which has brought high-tech jobs to the community. The chipmaker has been planning strong expansion in the area, including adding a 633,000-square-foot building and the acquisition of 800 acres near its current complex. The expansion will create an additional 1,000 jobs in the community and increase the demand for additional housing in the immediate area.

The development is also near the Wilton Mall at Saratoga, which provides an array of retail options, as well as the Clifton Park Center Mall, which features a movie theater and a variety of restaurants.

“For us at LeCesse, the interest we’ve seen in the first phase of GrandeVille at Malta is the ultimate sign of success,” said Caleb Keenan, COO of LeCesse Development Corp. “We’re excited to expand that with more much-needed housing near this center of job growth.”

The second phase of GrandeVille at Malta will be certified National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze.

The architect is James Fahy Design Associates out of Rochester, N.Y. The general contractor is Platinum-LeChase out of Newton, Mass. The civil engineer is Lansing Engineering out of Malta, N.Y. Financing is provided by Five Star Bank.
